LIFE

We are building a community for families, individuals, and those who love and support people on the autism spectrum (ASD).

Join us as we develop tools and resources to inform, enlighten and encourage. We want to hear from you! What do you need? What resources do you lack? What areas of research do you find unclear? Are you a home educator who needs more support?

Most of all, we are here to learn from each other so we can gain practical insights and inspire others to embrace who they are, the way they are!

WHERE REALITY AND SCIENTIFIC INQUIRY MEET

Science doesn't define who we are, our unique personalities and experiences do. However, the current research can shed a lot of insight into our neurodivergent journeys so that we can better navigate the world we share. In Summer 2023, our organization will be publishing materials to help meet the needs of our community on multiple platforms. We will address:

What does the latest research tell us that we didn't know before?

  • How do multiple diagnoses affect intervention strategies?

  • Where is the breaking point between interventions and ableism?

  • What part does nutrition play in addressing challenges?

and,

  • Stories of courage and conviction that will empower anyone (or any family) who struggles with an autism diagnosis.

Some of the best ASD research is conducted in multiple disciplines. Our analyses examine them all.

Communication

From the earliest research, autism has been identified as a communication disorder. Sensory processing issues create the greatest impact in the areas of language and interaction.

Socialization

The challenges that result from early language delays can create divergent social behaviors well into adulthood. Studies of observable behaviors create areas of some of the best research.

Education

Neurodivergency offers real-life experiences that give us teachable moments throughout childhood and beyond. Pedagogy offers valuable insight into how to help ourselves and others.

Breaking Down the Stats

The latest statistics tell an important story:

We are not alone and our numbers are growing.

1 IN 36

OVER 400%

increase in the prevalence of autism between 2000 and 2020

40 X INCREASE

in autism diagnoses since the early 1970s

1 IN 3

individuals who are diagnosed with autism also have an intellectual disability

PASSIONATE ABOUT ADVOCACY

Our team of parents, teachers, researchers, and advocates truly represent the spectrum that characterizes their autism experience. Our team's deepest desire is to empower each individual and family facing a new diagnosis and to encourage those who are living out a neurodivergent life. While our autism journeys may be marked with unique experiences, we do share many common struggles and viewpoints. When we create community, we can assist each other to break through barriers and discover beauty in not only who we are, but how we are.
